the R32 by nature has a sport suspension, sport wheels and tires and looks lower and sportier than the standard V6 GTi. the R32 and the standard V6 are not as easily upgradable for horsepower as the 4cyl's are - a simple chip upgrade on the 4cyl turbos will net you something like 40 more HP. they're much more expandable, but for a rocket straight outta the box, he definitely got the right car
