I took mine out with a couple of screw drivers. Start it on the inside close to one of the corners, usually you can start it with your fingers and work a screw driver in to the window frame then move down a few inches and slide the second driver in. Prying outward on it slighty as you go. If your gasket is old use a little wd40 to help it slide better. Also if you start at the top and work across usually you can ease it out without having to go all the way around with the drivers. I've done this several times and it's always worked well for me and was able to save glass and gasket.
