You do not need a fuse on this line as it is only a ground wire. It goes to the tank sending unit which is a resistor to ground (works just like the dimmer on your light switch). The pink wire that feeds the other side of gauge is a fused wire. The plug in on fuse box is just a handy place to unplug the wire to tank.
