Re: Which TH-700R4 : Lockup or non-lockup
I went with the nonlocking TC for simplicity. I logged on aprox 40K with the 700R4 in my truck before I retired it. It was a daily driver and also towed my 22' camper several hundred miles a year. I believe I could have dropped another 100 to 150 rpm's at cruising speed (65 mph) with a lockup, but it still gave me an average of 17 mpg without the lockup. I had a transmission oil temp gauge installed in the out-going cooling line and I never seen it go over 155 degrees F. I did have a auxiliary cooler in line with the radiater cooler. When that truck is reassembled I will probably use that same transmission.

May those who love us, love us, any of those who do not love us, may God turn their hearts.
And if God is unable to turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we may know them by their limping.
A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.
