Hood hinges will need to go away long before you get the truck super-low. Their mounting position just above the wheel opening is a big problem. You can only trim so much out of the leading edge of the hinge before it no longer supports the weight of the hood properly. Two common solutions are hinges on the firewall (which is what I did) and doing reverse tilt hood.
