Re: VooDoo Cams by Lunati

I need to vent some here

The new Comp 280 cam and the new Comp 270 cam I installed in my 454 both sounded like SH!T after warming up. No matter how you adjusted from 1/4 turn to 2 turns and yes the lifters are turning, the oil pressure and feed are excellent and no, there not flat. I even had the lifter bores redone because I couldn’t find anything else to blame it on. After talking to a lot of different people in the machine shop business (I was in the bis for 16 years myself) the first question they would ask is what brand cam do you have? When I said Comp they said “there’s you problem”. I have never heard a hydraulic cam sound so loud, like it wanted to jump out of the motor. Comp Reps told me this is now normal. I say BS. After the customer service run around and telling me this is normal I will never use a Comp product again as long as I live.

I’m going to change to the VooDoo soon. I have to get back motivated. I’ve parked the truck since all this has been going on for the last 6 months or so.

I’ll let you all know how it turns out.

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest, I feel a bit better now
