Re: Does your blazer have its orig. engine?

Mine has over 130,000 on the original 350 engine. All stock except hei ignition which I installed after purchase. The engine is vrey very tired. The original owner used the Blazer to clear snow from his driveway in Gunnison CO from 72 until 01. When he retired he sold the Blazer and moved to Oregon. It was purchased new on 3/21/72 from Spedding Chevrolet , Denver Co. Purchase price was $4969.00 after trade in allowance of $1150 and state tax of $114.57 and $25.00 doc fee out the door price was $3958.57 That might sound good today but that was a lot of money for vehicle in 1972 and it didn't even have a/c! Future plans include a crate engine, overhaul transmission and transfer case. I'm not worried about the value with the original engine, I plan to keep it as long as I'm am able to drive it. For now put in a quart of oil and some transmission fluid and drive topless.
