Re: Does your blazer have its orig. engine?
My 72 has a 454 ORIGINAL, yeah I wish. I have had 4-5 K5's all 4X4 and all 350 (if not original, stockish) and they were all pigs. I swapped a cam, intake, carb, and hei as well as headers and it helped, but compresson is the key. If I had a small block K5 I'd pony up the $$$ for Vortec heads and the cam, intake, carb, hei and then I'd be OK. But with the 454 I am thinking 500hp and gobs of torqe, nuff said!! As far as value, better is better, so the #'s don't matter these are not muscle cars. Compare a Charger with a non-original hemi to a 440 #'s matching car and see which is more $$$, again same "clone" Hemi vs a "real" hemi again see the logic. A truck is a truck unless its a loaded short bed w/ac, BBC, yadda yadda, then the value is up, but not for a SBC power truck, Blazer, Burb.
