Good question, i'm not sure but i'd like to know. My blazer is no dog from a stop, but on the other hand, i was able to cruise down here when i moved (300miles) and i kept it at about 75mph min. It didnt sound like the rpm's were THAT high... it ran fine. I know it will do 100 (or has a long time ago) with 31's but it's screaming pretty loud at that point) I have no idea on the ratios, but i've been wondering for a pretty long time. Back in the day, (almost a year ago) before i had my 33's, i had 31's... i could smoke the heck out of them(them as in, most of the time) from a stop, on demand, no problem. I think after my blazer is warmed up a bit current day i could most likely spin at least one of them(33's) from a stand still.
I dont think it's a limited slip, it's for sure not posi. But as said i could still get both to hook up at times... Not sure how normal this is or not, my girls 98 grand cherokee
isnt limited slip but it can also hook up both tires pretty well if it's wet. This (my blazer) is my 1st caburated V8, i'm not sure if most are either like mine, or no smoke at all no matter what.... however, once i get a tire/s going, i can usually vary pretty easily on how much i want to roast them by listening to the rpms and stepping on the go pedal harder OR/ not so hard.

You're not the 1st person i've heard this from, but i've never seen it before. Let me know when you post pics
