What is a 73 doing with a converter? I didn't think they were factory till 75-76. As long as you have decient oil pressure the seal is the only thing failing. If the oil pressure has dropped, I would replace the oil pump and probably rods and mains since you are going to have it open. They shouldn't be trashed after 91k, but they will have some wear.
