No, I don't think I need to go to that extreme. There's a clip about 1/2 way up the trailing arms where both cable ends terminate. It looks like if you had enough slack you could turn one of the cables to pull the end through the center of the clip, and poof they'd be loose. I realized today that all I need to do is either slide the rear-end forward (which I now basically have totally loose from the truck) or just remove the trailing arms. Either way I'd end up with enough slack.
