The're blowing smoke and I think most on the board will agree. If you have a carb now and it is badly out of tune then of course you will notice a performance increase.
CFM means cubic feet per minute which is the amount of air the carb will flow at max throttle. I think you might notice a slight increase in performance between a stock manifold and an edelbrock aluminum performer intake with an Edelbrock 600 CFM carb. They are about the easiest to tune and are reliable.
