Oh but you DID pay almost that much for a piece of plastic and gauges, but it also had wheels and a motor to boot. The truck in your driveway is proof of that. If I were to be doing a custom build, I would consider doing a special dash. I am working on a polished aluminum dash for a 68 Chevy C-10. I are sick.
