There's only 3 things in there.The contact for the horn(does that still work?),the turn signal mechanism(do they work?) and the light to light up the gear selector(does that work?).
I'd pull the wheel and check for chaffed wires.I'd do that kinda soon too.
If a power wire is grounded out and stays grounded your looking at an electrical fire(those aren't fun).
