Yeah I took out the steel in 5" sections, what a PITA! I redesigned a lot to get it to fit so I could mount the wheelhouses on top. The last crossmember is out of a '73 and up because it has a ledge on it that just happens to be the same thickness of the wood, I wanted steel at the end of the bed for wear purposes. The first crossmember,after the step, is out of a truck, we had to notch it to put a body mount in it! Jim
Yes, I used dum-dum under all the wood where the steel meets it
