I had aluminum diamond plate on top of my utility bed powdercoated with BC/CC (charcoal grey) powdercoat as well as the steel diamond plate bumper,ladder racks,and side steps on a work truck.I had problems with the clear lifting on everything but the aluminum.It got wore down to a dull finish,yet stuck like glue,no flaws.Everything was shot at different times.I think it works better on aluminum due to the conductive nature of aluminum,just my theory.The aluminum was sand-blasted first.I also had the another truck with straight gloss black powdercoat on diamond plate aluminum and steel racks with the same good results.It really "grabs" on aluminum,not like paint.
