Believe it or not---The Carter AFB is the VERY SAME thing that Edelbrock sell sunder the Performer Carb line as a number 1406. Both units are made by a company called Magnetti-Marelli and have the same parts inside them. The Edelbrock parts usually sell for less and are more plentiful. I have had a couple of the Carters and tuned them with the needles and jets from the Edelbrock suppliers.
The carb is actually a 625 CFM unit and is pretty reliable, i finally upgraded to an Edelbrock Thunder AVS which is a 650 CFM unit.
