Be REAL careful with State farm! I had ALL my insurance with them. Business, Malpractice, Homeowners, All vehicles, umbrella, etc. While the Studebaker was under construction, they kept hassling me about only having comp coverage on it; ie cancellation notices on umbrella policy. I woulld send a picture of it in pieces in garage and they would "go away". Finally, the day came to put it on the road. They wanted to know a value. I gave them one, (over 10K) and they insured it but kept wanting an appraisal. We attended a show in Laughlin, NV where they had an NSRA safety 23 inspection and appraisal all set up. I did the inspection, got the window sticker, and did the appraisal. I was floored with the figure they gave me, but took the appraisal to my agent's office. They quoted a premium, but after months of discussion, they refused to insure it, because "modified vehicles have lesser value than restored". My new coverage is for stated value (appraised), no mileage limit (but can't be a daily driver), and I'm a lot happier. Check your coverage!
