you do not need to maintain the rocker adjustment on these engines, that is only true though on hydraulic cam engines, did you put in a mechanical cam ?
theres no need to readjust rockers, the plungers are centered after first adjustment after engine assembly and there is 1 full turn worth of travel that can be taken up dut to wear, if they have worn that much then its time for new valvetrain
but if you know someone has messed with the top end of the engien in the past and think they may not have readjusted the valve rocker lash correctly, then get a haynes book open and find where adjustment procedure is, they explain it very well per GM specs, it is 1 full turn on the nut past zero lash at the rocker tip to vavle stem tip.
when the lifter is at the dead bottom of travel in its bore in the block that is when to adjust the rocker nut for that lifter, back it off til rocker is floppy loose, and then carefully tighten nut while wiggling rocker until the rocker straightens up(makes contact with valve stem tip) then tighten the nut one revolution, do the same for all 15 others when the lifter for that rocker is all the way down in the bore
if engine was just assmebled and you guys adjusted the lash correctly, then you wil never need to readjust ever, UNLESS you have a machanical cam
