Im going steel in my longhorn. 1 reason was cost,& the other is to tighten up the @ss end,so that 383 can get some "bite". The cross sills are 2x3x 1/8 wall tubing,& are tied together with 2x2x1/8,& welded tight. the first 1 ft in on the floor is 12guage smooth sheet,& the center 4x8 1/2ft will be done with 14 guage tread plate. With a Rhino coating,it should last a long time........69Longhorn.
