I wanted to rejuvenate this thread and solicite comments on my 79 as well.
I am most interested in getting information/ideas regarding my Ramsey winch and bumper, because I want to attach a brush guard to the existing set-up. My grandfather had it installed not long after buying the truck, so information is scarce. As far as I can tell, it is very similar to the modern Ramsey RE8000, and the bumper extension looks like it was made for that particular winch. I am considering a local custom fab shop. I would also consider replacing the old mount in favor of completely new one.
