Re: 2wd lift?

HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY!!!

At anyrate, here is the usual response I give to these questions.. if that doesn't answer your questions.. ask away. Not that I know everything, but if I dont someone here most likely will. Great group of knowledgeable people.

Coils will lift your truck but you will wear ball joints and tie rods faster as it puts them at an steeper angle.. also you will have little to NO droop in the suspension..

body lifts are ok, but have alot of problems associated.. adjust your steering, electrical connections, lift bumpers... etc... i prefer to stay away from body lifts...

there are advertised lifts, but they are just coils, Fabtechs kit is coils and possibly tubular control arms.. (if the ball joint mounting area is degreed then they wont wear as much)... However.. NOBODY currently sells a lift spindle, which would be the best way to go to keep proper geometery.. AIM ( )use to sell them, but quit due to little interest..

with some work you could swap ball joints (and/or control arms, i am not sure what is involved with this as i havent gotten that far yet) you could use 88-98 lift spindles...

As far as 35" tires, you could probably get away with using 2" lift coils and a 3" body lift. Only way to get that much lift with these trucks. At this point I would rather run fiberglass fenders or the next step to have a fully custom front suspension made with coil overs. Good luck and post up pics when you finish the lift..

I ran HD coils on the front and stocks springs on the back of my 82 and ran 32" tires with only minor rubbing at the very top fender lip that I rolled and then some on the inner fender but since its smooth I wasnt too worried. 33"s should fit fine in the back without trimming. With 32"s I had less than 2 fingers width between the tire and lower fender at its closest point....this was at a dead stop so this doesnt account for movement, but like I said, I rubbed at the very top of the fenders.. not at the lower edges.. 33"s would probably rub at both.
