As far as it being a law, I agree with it being a law. Not on the grounds that you need to belt up to save _your_ life, but to keep you in the drivers seat and your passengers off your lap in case of a swerve or minor collision so that you can keep control of the car can save others from your out of control car killing them. IMO, that argument is enough to warrant the maditory use of seat belts.
