You will probably have to back the adjuster off a bit. There might be a lip in the drum and the brake shoes are holding it on. To do this you have to get a brake spoon or a screwdriver can work too. Look at the backing plate and you should see two slots. Look for the star wheel and back it off. You can look at the other side to get a better idea. Back that off and it should come off. If that is not the problem then soak the center with penatrating oil and use a hammer and smack around the outside of the drum and not on the center. It might break loose rust if there is any..
