I finally got started on my 67 this weekend. I took out the floor mat to check floor condition. Then I shortened the frame. I acctually prefer this method of frame shortening
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=123624 but I did not want to remove the cab from the frame so I went with a method I saw used in Classic Trucks. I simply cut the frame, checked all measurements, welded it together and boxed it in. When I was done I Cut the two piece drive shaft and rewelded into a new one piece just to move it around the yard. I am NOT going to drive on the highway like this

. Although the driveshaft did stand up to me popping the clutch and smoking the tires down the driveway

. While I had the crossmember out I cut holes and welded in 4" pipe sleeves for exhaust to pass through.
