Jonboy's nailed it right there. I've installed 2002 Silverado buckets in my 75 Blazer so I can vouch for the mounting of the Silverado seats. The stock bracketry is not removeable and because of this would have the seats sitting 5-6" higher than normal in a pickup due to the hump in the floor.
I suspect the reason for the complex brackets is because of the integral seat belts and needing to be able to take the force of impact in a crash. One might be able to get creative and cut the snot out of a set, but it might not be worth it. From what I've seen and read, buckets out of a 88-98 NBS truck fit easier (4wheel and off road mag had a write up on it a few years back).
