Shouldn't have to pull the hood if the radiator is out. Have a buddy/kid/wife "ush the hood a little further up with a broom handle or get a 2x4 to hold it up a little higher - there is a little more room these old hinges flex around alot.

Make sure that you get the motor hoise hook/chain as tight as possible to give you the most clearance.


I pulled a V8 out of my 4x4 without taking out the Radiator or Pulling the hood. Just have to know how to angle the motor around. These trucks have an airport under the hood. You can basically spin the motor around 360 in there.
