That would be true for the Xtreme Energy 268 (XE268H) like you mentioned, but we (at least I) was refering to the High Energy 268 (268H). The 268H works fine with the stock converter, springs, etc. The XE268H calls for a Stock-2500 rpm converter.

Valve lift on the XE268H is .477"/.480"
Valve lift on the 268H is .454"/.454"
