Re: Looking for mild cam - any suggestion
I like the CompCams 12-231-2 cam; a little less duration than the 268 and a degree advanced - this moves the power down in the RPM band where our trucks like it for a daily driver. I've built with two of these and have been very happy in each case.
The 12-235-2 is the next step up and is also a great choice for an otherwise stock engine. Likely with the stock heads anything much over .450 lift a) isn't going to deliver much and b) needs to be very carefully checked for clearances.
Crane has some great choices as well - the PowerMax H-260-2 is another great choice - a little milder on lift but also another degree of advance.
Since you spend most of your time below 4000 RPM in a daily driver, suggestion is not to go with a high-RPM cam.
