having weight on the rear end make a big difference when installing your panhard bar. the lower you frame is to your rear end, the "longer" the bar becomes.
you should be fine sliding the rear end over to get it into the mount, but don't waste time adjusting it until you have the bed on the frame and the wheels on the ground, and have the truck at ride height.
