Kevin, when you say that you left the very bottom open for drainage what exactly do you mean? Is it open into the rocker space? Or, is it open to the inner/under aspect of the truck (so you could see the hole if you were under the truck?
Also, I've been trying to figure out how the water/debris got into that dead space. I just opened my inner panel at the bottom and scraped out about 2 inches of dirt! (My panel had rusted through at the very bottom, about 1/4" worth... perhaps thats where the dirt came from?)
