The I 6 & the sb V8 stands are different(you cant just move yours ahead). if you opt for the V8 stands, you will also need to remove the bell mount crossmember, & discard it. You can then use an auto trans crossmember under your 3 spd stick trans(the crossmember will be in the frame holes for 1 equipped with a 350 turbo. You will need to lenghten you driveshaft(you will be sliding the eng foward 3 1/2"), & you will also need to rework your clutch linkage, as well as adjusting the exhaust, & no doubt shift linkage.
Personally, I like to run my sb in I6 spot,& havent had any weird angle issues, or problems(other than the distrib is close to the firewall ). here are a few shots of mine..... http://community.webshots.com/user/hotrodhorn best of luck,  L
