It is worth more than that Andy. You and I know what type of work this guy does. As we have both used him.
Most of these guys cant find a tranny shop local to rebuild one for that price. Over the years i have seen multiple threads here about tranny price. Try to buy one at Advance Auto(or insert the parts place of choice here) for that much. Or go to a local yard to get a used one. Most yards want $150 for one with unknown miles. At least.
