H4 indicates the pattern on the plug in if I'm not mistaken (either that or the bulbs pattern where it mates to the housing). Either way,H4 is what I have in the replacement lights on both my Jeep TJ and my 72K10 (both are round lights). So apparently being H4 has nothing to do with the shape of the reflector. As far as HID goes, you can buy them with a HI beam but they are not DOT legal. It has to do with the bulbs not being shielded to prevent blinding oncoming traffic. There is a member named subtle71 who has installed them but apparently he doesn't want to share any inormation about them. I have PMed him several times and he will not reply. I guess he's either very busy or wants to be the only member running HID
. You can go to Ebay motors and do a search for HID conversion and find quite a few kits. I have no idea which ones are worth buying.
