Re: Disc Brake Kits

Most vendors on this site have a conversion kit for your truck but not with 6 piston calipers. I'm sure you'll have to upgrade to Baer brakes or Wilwood for those kind of calipers. Do you really need 6 pistons calipers? I know Baer has the 6 piston monoblock calipers but I don't know if it is applicable to our trucks (pretty sure they're not). Then you've got to have a bigger disc and bigger wheels too.
Baer does have a 5 lug drop spindle conversion kit but I'm sure it's not cheap. My biggest advice is to buy what you need. I plan on converting mine within the year but I'm only gonna use 2 piston calipers because that is all I need. I've got a 1969 1/2 ton 2wd and I'm just gonna buy a common conversion kit, probably not even power. Most of those kits run around $700-800. So if your looking for hipo parts like Baer and stuff you better have the $$$ to buy it and then maintain it to. Good luck with the hunt!
