If it's the factory throt cable and it has never been messed with you may be able to pull the cable in the cab at the top of the peddle arm towards you and there is a small swedged aluminum barrel at the end of it.
You would take up the slack necessary and duplicate that type of swedge barrel and that should do it.
You may be able to obtain a swedge barrel from a speed shop or maybe a bicycle shop "brake cable" or even a fishing bait shop.
