Have you checked the detent cable for some means of adjustment. most cables have some kind of adjustment on them. Might have a retaining screw, snap-lock or an adjustment tab or button. Depending on what type you have, the adjustment varies a little. Loosen the screw or pry up on the sides of the snap-lock to release it, open throttle wide open against the stop making sure the cable has pulled through the detent position. Tighten the retaining screw or push the snap-lock on the cable or push in the tab to lock in place. If you have already check the cable and it is already extended out as far is will go, I'm not sure what you have got. Good luck....
