I wet the glass/rubber down with a soap solution and then pull the glass out starting at the top. Sometimes I have had to pry the glass out out using a smooth screw driver with rounded edges to get the glass started out.

On installing the glass I apply the tape to the glass, soap it down and then pound it into the frame with a rubber hammer.
