Re: Toneu covers for stepsides? DIY?

I made one from a soft cover from a 2001 dodge ram.
The kind that snap on a frame and then clamp to the truck

I made the outside frame from a hardwood (old coat rack) with the Dogde plastic part on the bottom of the wood.

Then I hammered the ribs from the dodge ribs so they where rounded down on the ends and cut to length.
Then I attached all the ribs with small bolts
Then I streched the vinal over it all the stapled it up on the underside to the wood and cut the vinal to size.
The corners were tricky but I cut them close and added a dab of crazy glue on the underside to keep em tight.
Then I put a SS hidge on the Bed Header
The back stayed down with a divers weight tied to each back corner.

Worked great till a light fell on it and ripped it

The frame I scrapped on the last metal run

Cost $5.00 plus free Ram cover ( can get them cheap)
Lucked out my buddy bought a rear cab and was tossing it out
