Yep, just squeeze it in the hole to be sure it's never dry. If it's an ARP bolt, then you should use ARP lube - anything else should be oil or Vasaline. You won't get proper torque with a dry bolt.
Thanks for the tip Bill! I haven’t bolted on the heads yet, but was planning to soon. (I just got my head gaskets Saturday)

One other thing, there is no lock washer or anything on the bolt I took off. Should there be?
