I got this truck for $3000 about 6 months ago. It is a California truck with zero rust and a straight body. I love it. I bought it as a work truck, but now want to restore her slowly.
Things I've done-
- removed the lumber rack
- replaced fancy aluminum wheels with freshly painted 8 lug steelies
- new BF Goodrich LT 235/ 85/ 16 Commercials (nice and tall)
- replaced rotten wood bed with varnished Spanish Cedar, polished stainless strips, and all stainless hardware
- new dash bezel, dash pad, rubber floor mat, rear view mirror, dome light
- new upholstered seat, door panels, and visors
- new sidemarker and tail light lenses
- new fender emblems
- rhinolined sides of bed (kinda regretting that now)
- new diamond plated rear step bumper
- new flowmaster exhaust
- new Rancho 5000 shocks
- new stainless armored brake lines
- new rubber weatherstripping and bumpers all around
Now I need to do the hard stuff.
- new 350 engine (thinking about a new GM crate 350)
- Edelbrock performer intake manifold
- Edelbrock 1405 carb with manual choke
- Edelbrock aluminum valve covers
- Edelbrock air cleaner
- water pump
- water neck
- distributor
- wires
- cap and rotor
- oil dipstick
- aluminum radiator
- get the factory AC to work (blows, but not cold)
- & eventually get her painted!
