I'm a part of the above thread ... I had the chance to drive my truck with the NV4500 that I mention in it. I had my GPS unit with me, yesterday, so I could gauge my rpm's-MPH. Here's what I saw ...
2000 rpm = 60 MPH
2500 rpm = 75 MPH
Yes, the "REAL" 1st gear is ultra low.
Using the stock master-slave cylinder. Had to mock up a piece to get the master cylinder's "plunger" lined up with my clutch pedal. Works great with an appropriate amount of effort and throw. By no means do I see this as a "street" or "strip" setup, but it is functional and durable. Burned about 1/4 of a tank for 120 mile round trip.
