If he "knows" then the only reason he wants you to guess is to better his "perception" of what it is worth. It is only worth what you, or someone else, is willing to pay for it. Offer only what you are willing to pay for it based upon the market in your area.

Ask youself what you could easily resell it for and offer him that amount...DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO HAVE IT? I always ask myself that question and frequently walk away...especially if he is not willing to price it himself. If it is running...$1000-$1500...but I don't want or need it...LOL!
