the cad will make more torque stock for stock, and get better MPG, and it's something you don't see every day. The word has been getting around town about mine, and i get ppl askin me about it in traffic at least once a week these days.
Nothing wrong with a 454 (well... have you priced all the brackets and junk you'll need?) but I'd opt for the 500 personally.
ON the MPG thing... I have a worn out 425 cad, 4.10 gears, revin 3000 on the freeway I get 12 MPG last time i checked, and that was burning WAY rich and the timing wasn't dialed in either. All this in a one ton fleet side truck.
