Yeah, lotsa folks complain from that, solution seems to be long-tube headers for a Monte Carlo, and judging by how high off the ground the flanges of my headers are I bet that's exactly what I have in my truck. Actually initially I wanted to do side exhaust behind the front tires, cause noone seems to have it and it's be pretty sweet, but there was no way I do that with the current headers, and I couldn't afford new longer headers... Will eventually do it, maybe next summer - nothing like the unmuffled sound of a 350 roaring straight at everyone who passes by 
By the way, with yer glasspacks hanging so down low, aren't you scraping again, even with the shorties?
