1 ~ 1.5".

An 8" wheel w/4"BS works great on 67-72's. Add an extra .5 to that wheel width to the outside edge of the rim to try & keep the BS around 4".

5.4" - 1.5" = 3.9" which is pretty darn close to the magic number. IMO though, wheels w/that much BS & a spacer to center them properly aren't going to look as good as the correct size/BS wheel w/no adapter.
