I made it a goal to try and get every variation of the Hot Wheels 57 Chevy. After a couple years of gathering up the more common stuff it started getting expensive. I have a 2 car set that was to be issued by Bloomingdales called "Fabulous 57s". The sets were made and shipped out, but a higher up saw them and said they weren't up to the "quality" of Bloomingdales. The story is whatever hadn't sold was pulled and destroyed making this set extremly rare. Well.........I bought a set of em..........coulda made a house payment for what I paid for em. But I wanted em. You should have seen me telling the wife, it went something like this. (Me) Baby I just bought a couple cars on Ebay. (wife) OK. (Me) Uh I paid $XXXX for em. (wife) Do you need some money?(me).................No.......I got it.
That went a lot better than I thought it would!
