Re: New to 73's

Congrats. You'll like it. The parts interchange on these blazers all the way up to 91. most stuff swaps over, although there are naturally some minor differences from early to late. Boneyards are the best place to find cheap parts as they are still somewhat plentiful in the yards. I just scored a perfect tailgate with trim for under $50. The trim alone from LMC would have cost over $250.

Your going to have to break out the tape measure to gauge exact trailer size. With 37 to 40 inch tires it might be a little wide for a standard trailer. If you don't want to have to swap some smaller roller's on it to fit the trailer, you might at least need to find one with fenders strong enough to drive over. In other words, it's not going to fit on your standard Uhaul rent-a-trailer.

The shifter should give you the transfer case shift pattern. If it's stock it could have a full time 203 case or a part time 205. Or it could have a some other t/case swapped in over the years. Could be a 208 or 241. Once you know what type of t/case you have the shift pattern is easy to look up.
