C = Conventional truck cab
E = Eight Cyl
1 = 1/2 ton
59 = Cab to rear axle dimension of 54 inches.
0D = Fleetside box

the space is for the state code designation if required, which in this and most cases is not required.

P = Pontiac Assesmbly Plant
C = model year 1967
1240 is the sequence number of the vin
A = GVW range 6000 lbs or less

Those were the interesting ones to decode when I figured out the GMC vins.

I live in Canada, just north above North Dakota. These trucks sure get around still. Welcome to the boards.
