#2 is correct. Jonboy is right though, there's no need to swap the entire setup, just spindles, etc...Actually, I could be wrong, but I think you just need to swap ball joints and spindles. Someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong...
As for question #1, does that block have a space where you can drill and tap it to use the old bolt of the 327? Are you planning on keeping it 3-speed? If you plan on converting it to auto in the near future, do so right away, it's an easy conversion.
